Commuters at Blythe Valley Business Park will start the new year
on a direct route to success thanks to a new bus service.
As part of its green travel policy, Blythe Valley Park has
launched an hourly bus service that will run directly between the
business park and Birmingham International train station and
airport.
The service will operate alongside the X20 line, which runs from
Stratford upon Avon to Blythe Valley Park and Birmingham City
Centre - and the S9 shuttle bus which runs a regular service from
Blythe Valley Park to Solihull train station and town centre.
Tickets on the brand new, 42-seat B90 bus will cost just
£2 each way.
Kate Smith, of Liberty Property Trust UK, which develops and
manages Blythe Valley Park in partnership with Doughty Hanson and
Co Real Estate, is delighted with the introduction of this new
service and believes it will provide a number of benefits.
She said: "This service has been put in place to cope with
growing demand and in line with our commitment to green travel.
"As part of this ongoing pledge we have previously set up car
sharing schemes, cycle paths and made bikes available on site for
free use.
"The bus will leave hourly and travels straight down the M42 so
it only takes around 15 minutes to get from Birmingham
International to Blythe Valley Park.
"The journey usually costs about £12 in a taxi but this
service costs just £2, so people are saving money as well as
helping the environment.
"This will make it easier for people visiting the park from out
of town as they can jump straight on the bus from the train,
reducing the number of vehicles on the road too.
"By strengthening local links in this manner we also hope to
attract more companies to take up tenancy in the park."
