Mobile Fun, the leading online retailer of Everything Mobile,
has reported strong Christmas trading figures with orders up 28%
and sales up 19% on 2009.
The company, with UK, German and French websites, received just
under 100,000 (99,817) orders over the final quarter of
2010.
Mobile Fun's European websites, MobileFun.de and MobileFun.fr,
accounted for 15.9% of total orders while sales increased 253% on
the same quarter in 2009.
The strong performance was supported by sales from Mobile Fun's
specialist websites GearZap.com, a dedicated online retailer for
iPad, netbook and laptop accessories, and GamingZap.com which
supplies high-end and pro-gaming accessories. The websites
contributed 5.5% of total orders and sales were up 191% on the same
quarter in 2009.
Anthony Cook, Founder and Chairman of Mobile Fun, comments: "The
quarter's record figures were delivered in spite of adverse weather
conditions, which affected UK consumer confidence in online
retailers during the run up to Christmas 2010. Management responded
swiftly to the challenge through the use of tactical marketing
activities to help combat the slow-down in sales. In addition,
strong performance in October and November helped to offset the
slight (2.2%) decline in UK orders in December 2010 compared to
December 2009."
"Our outlook for 2011 is positive: we're excited about the
prospect of new retail opportunities, including an eagerly
anticipated new iPad model, higher specification smart phones and a
host of new tablet devices. We are also on course to meet our
European expansion plans and are in the process of adding new
websites to our portfolio," continues Cook.
