Accountants and business advisers Mazars have strengthened their corporate finance team with the arrival of Lisa Maynard as assistant manager.

The move comes as Mazars Corporate Finance continues a major push to grow its share of international deals. Birmingham-based, she will be working with partner Andrew Millington, head of the division's Midlands operation.

Mrs Maynard, who is from Sutton Coldfield and a graduate of  Birmingham City University, said: "It is an exciting time to be part of a fast-growing partnership.

"My primary focus will be to support the team's deal origination activities both in the UK and internationally."

Mr Millington added: "Lisa is experienced at finding UK buyers and acquisition targets for overseas businesses and will be actively seeking mandates or leads with an international flavour.

"She is an excellent addition and is already making a difference. Lisa's appointment demonstrates the firm's commitment to investing in the appropriate resources to ensure we can offer our clients an integrated international service."

Mrs Maynard has more than ten years experience in the sector, the last three as an analyst at corporate finance boutique Clearwater, where she acted an as introducer of opportunities.

She trained at KPMG and has also worked in the corporate finance team at Grant Thornton.

Her role will involve working closely with both Mazars' overseas operations and Praxity, the world's largest alliance of independent accounting firms, of which it is a member.

Mazars has developed an integrated partnership across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Clients include large corporations, high-growth SMEs and high net-worth individuals.

Mazars Corporate Finance initiates, structures, negotiates and manages transactions, offering the full range of lead advisory assignments - acquisitions, disposals, the raising of funds and valuations.
