The partners of law firms Harvey Ingram and Borneos have agreed
in principle to merge their businesses. The merger is due to be
formally completed on 31 January 2011.
It will create a new regional law firm with a £20m-plus
turnover and nearly 400 staff, based at five sites spanning the
Midlands and Home Counties.
This is a strategic and positive move for both businesses and no
jobs will be lost, or offices closed as a direct result of the
merger.
The new firm will build on the existing strengths of Harvey
Ingram and Borneos, which include the full range of business and
personal legal services, with a particular emphasis on helping
business owners to manage, protect and grow both their corporate
and their personal wealth
Harvey Ingram Managing Partner Simon Astill says: "The two firms
are a superb fit thanks to their complementary services and client
commitment. Over time, the merger will help us to create new
opportunities for our clients and staff."
Stephen Holmes, Borneos' Chief Executive, says: "The merger will
position us well to invest even more heavily in delivering high
quality, value for money legal services across an extended
geographic region for the benefit of our clients."
The new firm will trade under the names of Harvey Ingram Borneos
in Milton Keynes, Bedford and Newport Pagnell, and Harvey Ingram in
Leicester and Birmingham.
