With laddish banter offside for football commentators, hacking
raising hackles and blogs backfiring on a daily basis, Harvey
Ingram lawyers have decided it's time to take a look at the perils
of parody, the risks of social media, the dangers of those jokey
emails rating the new trainees as 'fat'or 'fit' and the hazards of
humour. The question of exactly what's legal and what isn't,
goes under the spotlight when Harvey Ingram lawyers get behind this
year's Leicester Comedy Festival with one-off event It's Beyond a
Joke.
John Stobart, Roy Botterill, Emma Anderson, Pina McAleer and
Kimbra Welch, take to the stage at the Belmont Hotel, De Montfort
Street, Leicester, on 16 February.
The evening is the brainchild of Harvey Ingram partner,
Leicester Comedy Festival trustee and board member John
Stobart.
He says: "We'll give an insight of what can and can't be said -
before you get into hot water - with short, snappy and informative
legal advice presented in the most entertaining way possible.
Spectators will learn where the boundaries really lie and how
they are guaranteed to get the last laugh.
"We're delighted to be supporting the Leicester Comedy Festival.
Its reputation and pedigree as a launch pad for some of Britain's
most promising new acts has helped put our city on the map. It's a
privilege to be just a small part of a very big success story and
we are very proud to maintain our ethos in helping support and
nurture some of the country's best talent."
It's Beyond a Joke runs from 5.30pm to 7pm on 16 February.
Places are still available - but going fast. To get a spot please
send an email by 7 February, to daljit.flora@harveyingram.com
