Nicola Horsfield, who handles some of the biggest accounts within TNT Business Solutions' Records Management division, is already putting into practice what she is learning on the Foundation degree course.

One of the 17 up-and-coming employees, selected for the training through TNT's talent pipeline which aims nurture  managers within the company, she relishes the opportunities presented to her.

Nicola, an Account Manager on the Pan-Government contract, based at TNT's Records Management centre at Swadlincote, in Derbyshire, is responsible for new business opportunities and special projects.

The 34-year-old, whose husband Paul, works on a different contract within Records Management, said: "I have been in my current role for three years and I know where I want my career to go. TNT really encourages me to develop through the 'home-grown timber' ethos.

"I have done A-levels but, sometimes, wish I had gone to university. This Foundation degree will allow me to actually tick some of those boxes and achieve the goals I want to achieve within TNT.

"I really want to progress within TNT and the foundation degree gives me a fantastic opportunity to do so.

"Having the opportunity just to work alongside people from different areas of Business Solutions has been fantastic.

"And we are networking and raising the profile of our own divisions within the business which can only benefit the business and our customers, who remain key."
