Shropshire land agents  Davis Meade Property Consultants has  responded to a growing demand for advice on renewable energy from clients by partnering with business consultants Adamian Group who have agreed to provide technical advice and support to clients wishing to maximize the value of their assets and diversify their business. The joint venture known as Adamian Davies Meade will focus on all aspects of renewable energy opportunities and solutions.

Philip Meade, director of Oswestry- based Davis Meade Property Consultants and joint managing partner in the newly formed Adamian Davis Meade explained: "We have been monitoring the renewable market for two to three years, initially with biomass plants and anaerobic digesters, but with the introduction of Feed in Tariffs (FiTs) in April 2010 we have seen the demand for advice mushroom over the past few months."

"We are now receiving several enquiries a week from clients that have either been approached by energy companies wishing to locate equipment on their land, or are simply aware of the opportunities and want advice on the best options.

"The main opportunities currently lie in wind and solar power, but we are also looking at hydro, anaerobic digesters, biomass and ground source heat pumps , which will get their own FiTs in April 2011, " he said.

"The introduction of FiTs in April last year has really opened the flood gates and as a consequence a large number of our property, land owning and farming clients are being approached by various companies or are just curious about renewables.

"The main problem is that there are so many options and so many companies all offering a variety of deals that it is becoming increasingly difficult to be sure that you are getting a good deal. This is where we can help, because we do not intend to be tied in to any one specific energy company or equipment manufacturer. We have drawn up a list of preferred suppliers and will constantly be updating it to ensure that when a client approaches us, we can advise on the best options available or help create new options and put together a package to create the best deal for their particular circumstances."

Davis Meade has a significant client base in England and Wales and is already working with landowners, farmers and tenants to optimise their renewable energy options.

Colber Adamian -Thomas, joint managing partner of the new venture added:  " Our objective is to help our clients make money in an open, transparent and honest manner, by helping them achieve the right price in a way that reflects their individual needs and preferences.

"We've advised on some £6 billion of client's assets and we have seen some excellent opportunities and some truly dreadful attempts to take advantage of clients. We have already uncovered a number of examples where assets are undervalued or worse, where  what may appear to be a very lucrative deal, has hidden clauses that downgrade shortly after signing with no reference to the client.

One of the biggest concerns is land banking, where companies make little or no effort in pursuing the site yet stop other people developing it.

With the UK Government setting itself  one of the highest renewable energy targets in Europe and possibly the World, renewable energy is going to be a very fast growing industry.

Philip Meade  firmly believes that anyone with land should seriously consider renewable energy as an alternative income stream but they need unbiased advise to secure the best deal.

"We are committed to helping our clients and intend to offer  initial consultations free of charge and without commitment. We intend to act as 'honest brokers' in the renewable market with any charges we make being fully transparent and paid, where possible, out of the revenue created from the generated renewable energy," Mr Meade added.
