Nottingham based, ITT Water & Wastewater has donated £2,000 to the independent charity Voluntary Action Broxtowe. The funds will help them in their continued work to support the local people and community groups of Broxtowe, for the second year running.

The centre, which promotes the work of volunteers in the Broxtowe district, proudly received the cheque from ITT WWW which will go towards keeping staff member Gareth Stidder, whose expertise is vital for the charity's IT department.

Managing Director, Peter Lewington and Sales Office Manager Richard Philips from ITT WWW presented the cheque to Voluntary Action Broxtowe Chief Officer Linda Button and Treasurer Bill Ainsworth at its offices on Devonshire Avenue in Beeston.

Peter Lewington, Managing Director of ITT WWW, commented: "It is important for us at ITT WWW to be able to support local organisations like Voluntary Action Broxtowe that have limited funding. A little bit of help can have a huge impact on local communities like Broxtowe almost immediately. Voluntary Action Broxtowe does some amazing work and we are pleased to see our contribution making a big difference."

Chief Officer of Voluntary Action Broxtowe Linda Button added: "We are thrilled that ITT WWW has come back to offer us its support again this year. Being able to keep Gareth on is incredible as the work he does for us is so important to the day to day running of centre."

"Working at the centre is a truly rewarding experience and it's amazing to see what a difference our support can make to someone's life. As we are an independently funded charity, every penny we receive counts which is why we are so thankful to ITT for its generous donation."

Voluntary Action Broxtowe offers a range of support services to community groups, unemployed people and volunteers, offering help and advice. The centre works with volunteers of all ages and backgrounds across the borough of Broxtowe and has specialist projects to provide additional support for people with learning difficulties , people with  poor mental health and volunteers whose  first language is not English to ensure that volunteering is open to all.

With a head office in Colwick, Nottingham, ITT Water & Wastewater is the UK's premier solutions provider for the transportation and treatment of water and wastewater. ITT Water & Wastewater has four key brands; Flygt, Sanitaire, Wedeco and Leopold.
