One of the West Midlands' leading law firms has strengthened its
corporate team with the appointment of a partner.
John Heaton joined Higgs & Sons at the turn of the New Year.
Specialising in mergers and acquisitions, John regularly advises
corporates, owner managers, private equity houses and venture
capitalists on high value and complex transactions. He will
complement the firm's existing corporate expertise in a team that
has continued to grow during the downturn and that continues to
advise on many of the region's high profile deals.
Speaking of his appointment John said: "I'm delighted to be part
of Higgs & Sons' continuing success story. It is a highly
motivated firm that, whilst having a keen appetite to grow, does
not lose sight of its deep rooted history and commitment to its
core values. It prides itself on exceptional client care,
maintaining trusted relationships, and providing commercial advice
of the highest quality".
Partner Nick Taylor, Higgs & Sons head of Corporate, said,
"Many are surprised by the size and experience of the Higgs
Corporate team. John's appointment was necessary to cope with the
increasing deal volumes and values and is a clear sign of the
firm's ambitions for the continued growth of Higgs as a corporate
player following the firm's move to new premises in February last
year.
"John brings a wealth of experience and I'm sure will prove to
be a valuable asset to the firm. It shows our ambition to expand
and grow with the best legal talent."
John trained and qualified at Birmingham based Wragge & Co.
and subsequently moved to Hammonds.
Outside of the office John spends his time trying to keep up
with his two young children Harry and Isla, attempting to improve
his golf swing and pretending to be a triathlete.
