Nottingham property agent heb, who acted on behalf of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, is instructed to market the existing Newcastle Fire Station pending completion of the new station close by. 

The fire station will move from this site in Knutton Lane to a new site a few hundred yards away during the summer of 2011. 

Jonathan Bishop, partner at heb, said: "The existing site is in a fantastic location and has great potential for redevelopment for a variety of uses, subject to planning." 

The property prominently fronts Knutton Lane opposite the state of the art Newcastle College campus and incorporates two-storey office accommodation and single storey bays with roller shutter access doors to the front and rear, all set within a secure surface site of some 0.76 acres. 

heb acquired the relocation site for the fire authority which is a short distance away on Knutton Lane. The purpose built, newly designed station will allow more community safety activities to take place on site, such as Student Firefighter courses, by way of illustration. 

The new station is expected to become operational in summer 2011.
