Walsall-based truck dealer Hartshorne has supplied a new tanker
to one of Staffordshire's largest fuel oil distributors.
Hartshorne has supplied a specially converted Volvo FM11 8x2
tanker to Stafford-based BD Fuels.
The new vehicle joins BD Fuels' nine-strong fleet, and will be
used to deliver fuel oil to farms, business, transport companies
and homes throughout the region.
BD Fuels - based on the Airfield Industrial Estate, Hixon,
Stafford - is a family firm established more than 25 years ago. The
company specialises in oil fuel distribution, lubricants, oil tanks
and associated equipment.
The new vehicle is a rear steer FM11 tanker with day cab and a
410 horsepower Euro 5 engine. The tanker conversion work was
carried out by Lakeland Tankers of Lye, Stourbridge.
Dean Guttridge of Hartshorne said the company was looking for
reliability and good after sales service.
"For a company like BD Fuels, which operates mostly Volvos,
uptime is crucial to the business. That's why they choose Volvo and
Hartshorne," he said.
The Hartshorne Group is the Volvo Trucks agent for the Midlands,
with 12 depots across central England. The company is part of the
Crossroads Group.
