Birmingham based Fusion Building Consultancy has been instructed
on one of the region's highest profile manufacturing relocations -
Moog's move to Advantage West Midlands' i54 scheme.
Once considering moving outside the UK, Moog opted for the 220
acre site located on the northern outskirts of Wolverhampton,
relocating from its current plant on the city's Wobaston
Road.
The Fusion team, led by managing director Steven Jelfs are
acting as project managers and cost advisors to Moog and as Steven
says, "They needed brand-new premises and required 200,000 sq ft of
space, so this is a significant scheme by any standards.
"Moog are one of a number of manufacturers Fusion has been
instructed by and is working with this year. The projects are
typically with high profile businesses and often parent companies
based overseas, which has added to the complexity of the work."
One of the biggest name clients, TATA, has been working with
Fusion to deliver a design studio and an electric vehicle
manufacturing facility. The Ludgate Hill based building consultancy
is also working with ATP Ltd of Hednesfield, Haldex Brakes in
Redditch and Stolzle Flaconnage Ltd in Leeds on projects totalling
£5 Million.
"We are leading the field in high profile manufacturing
relocations in the region. We've been working within the
sector for a number of years and have built a reputation on our
ability to advise clients effectively, identifying potential sites
to relocate to and guiding them through what is a significant
investment.
"We soon hope to be working with another company based in
Wolverhampton which may relocate to i54. This is good news
for us and AWM who had the wisdom to invest in the scheme."
Fusion Building Consultancy was formed in Spring 2002 and is
based in Ludgate Hill, employing 11 people.
