Leading West Midlands contracting group Shaylor has appointed
Martin Chambers as Framework Director to develop the companies long
term relationship based contracts together with areas of strategic
interest to the business.
Shaylor Group provides a full range of building and construction
solutions to a wide variety of customers in both the public and
private sector.
Chambers has over 30 years experience in the construction
industry. He was the president of the Chartered Institute of
Building in 2007/8 and was responsible for overhauling the way the
Institute is organised in the UK and Ireland. During his
presidential year of 2007/08 he also oversaw the implementation of
the Institute's cutting edge governance model. Chambers joins
Shaylor from Bovis Lend Lease (BLL), where most recently he was
responsible for leading the Birmingham BsF programme.
Commenting on the appointment, Shaylor's Chief Executive,

determined advocate in the areas of sustainability and Smart

Chambers has many notable career achievements some of which
include; leading the Network Rail team responsible for the
£600m New Street Station Gateway redevelopment, securing
Defence Estates much revered £1bn SLAM programme and devising
and implementing a 10 year framework for the development of the
Telford campus of the Japanese Electronics giant RICOH.
