The Birmingham office of global real estate services firm, DTZ
has acquired warehouse premises in the Black Country on behalf of a
leading international swimwear brand.
The 21,259 sq ft industrial warehouse at the Woods Bank Estate
in Wednesbury was acquired by DTZ's industrial agency team on
behalf of Zoggs International Limited and will operate as the
company's regional headquarters. A ten year lease has been agreed
on the unit at a rent of £106,000 per annum.
Jonathan Robinson, Associate Director at DTZ in Birmingham,
commented: "We worked closely with Zoggs to establish their
specific requirements, which included quality accommodation and
storage facilities in an accessible location.
He continued: "The unit at Woods Bank Estate is located within
easy access of junction 9 of the M6 and met all the criteria which
made it the ideal site for Zoggs' regional HQ. We are delighted to
have played a part in their expansion plans."
DTZ's building consultancy team in Birmingham were also involved
in Zoggs' move and were responsible for monitoring the landlord's
refurbishment works at the unit.
Established in Sydney, Australia in 1992, Zoggs describe
themselves as the 'one stop swim shop' for swimming goggles,
training aids, swimwear and other related products. The company is
headquartered in Surrey and the acquisition at Woods Bank Estate is
part of the business' UK expansion plans.
Craig Marley, Supply Chain Manager at Zoggs, said: "DTZ worked
on our behalf to negotiate favourable terms with the landlord,
London and Cambridge Properties. The important thing for Zoggs was
to complete the transition in a very short space of time, having
all parties work closely together was key and achieved with a
tremendous effort from all involved."
A number of units at the Woods Bank Estate, which is owned by
Kingswinford-based London and Cambridge Properties (LCP), recently
underwent a £800,000 refurbishment programme.
