Domestic & General (D&G) has celebrated reaching its
five millionth customer, after the call was taken at its Nottingham
office.
Margaret Scanlon, 59, was the lucky call centre agent who took
the call at the Talbot Street branch, and didn't realise its
significance until she was told about it later.
She said: "What a fantastic way to start the new year! I am
delighted to have taken the call for our five millionth D&G
customer. It's great to be able to reward our customers with our
fantastic service. I'm sure I speak on all of the employee's behalf
when I say we take great pride in our work and know how highly our
customers value our services. "
With 60 years of success under its belt, and now five million
customers, D&G celebrated the milestone by giving lucky
customer Janet Gallie of Epsom a £500 gift voucher to spend
on a domestic appliance of her choice, along with a five year
extended warranty.
Janet said: "Thank you so much to D&G for this wholly
unexpected gift. We bought our warranty cover to ensure our piece
of mind if anything should go wrong with our fridge, and never
dreamed it would lead to this."
D&G provide product protection for major domestic
appliances, electronic products and central heating systems, as
well as warranty services for over 150 major UK and international
brands.
Margaret received a bottle of champagne for taking the call and
was thrilled to be rewarded for helping reach the
milestone.
She added: "We hope to continue to serve our customers to the
best of our ability and that there will be another five million
left to come."
