Design (Rugeley) Ltd, have won the Lichfield and Tamworth Building
Control 'Built in Excellence' Awards in the Domestic Conversion and
Extension Category for the Restoration and Extension of the Grand
Lodge and its grounds, Borough Lane, Longdon, Rugeley. The Lodge, a
Grade II Listed Building was set to be put on the Local Authority
'At Risk' register, prior to the current owners purchase.
The property, owned by Premiership striker Kevin Phillips, was
also featured on BBC Midlands Today earlier in the year.
Glen Smith, Director of the Wheelhouse Road Architectural
Practice, said: 'we are delighted to be recognised and connected
with this project, assisting Design Team members, Main Contractor
and Client'.
A spokesman for the joint organisers Tamworth Borough Council
and Lichfield District Council said: "The Built in Excellence
Awards are fast becoming the most highly regarded accolades for
quality in construction as they are presented by Local Authority
Building Control which is entirely independent and unbiased."
Park House Design will receive the award at a presentation in
Lichfield District Council offices on 11th January 2011.
The project will now go forward to the Staffordshire 'Built in
Excellence' Awards to be held next year.
