Corporate finance specialists at Derby law firm Freeth
Cartwright have advised on a deal whereby Energist Ltd,
manufacturers of hair removal, vascular and skin rejuvenation
equipment, has acquired the assets and undertaking of Plasmogen
Inc, a US company based in New York.
Using technology developed in the UK, Plasmogen's novel patented
technology sold under the Portrait® brand name, uses nitrogen
plasma for a variety of dermatological treatments. It means that
Swansea-based Energist can enhance their portfolio of products
which boasts a comprehensive range of pulsed light equipment sold
under the VPL™ and iPulse™ brand names. Their MedArt
laser range offers aesthetic and surgical solutions to medical
professionals worldwide.
Energist's Chief Executive, Jonathan Prutton, said: "This was an
important strategic acquisition for Energist and its private
equity owner, Excalibur. In the past, we have tended to use
London-based lawyers; nevertheless we were delighted with the high
quality and personal service we received from Mike Copestake, Paul
Feenan and their team at Freeth Cartwright and felt that they
represented excellent value for money".
