Dan Byles MP for North Warwickshire & Bedworth visited a
specialist recruitment agency to find out firsthand about the
support they are offer to those on health related benefits into
work. And whilst there, he met with jobseeker James King who is
benefitting from the service.
James, who has been out of work for several years, has received
help with updating his CV and is learning computer skills to help
with his job searching.
Working Links runs the return to work programme across Coventry
and Warwickshire with additional offices in Leamington Spa and
Nuneaton. From these offices they outreach their bespoke services
into the community to support jobseekers within their communities.
And this support often includes help with CVs and interview
techniques through to work based training initiatives run alongside
those employers that are recruiting.
Kalpna Koria , Working Links Manager comments; "We are one of
the highest performing regions in supporting those on health
related benefits into work because we offer a support service that
is tailored to the needs of the jobseekers. We look at the types of
work that people can do rather than focusing on the jobs that they
can't. And our support continue whilst people are in work to make
sure that they are happy in their new roles
Dan Byles MP said; "I was delighted to have the opportunity to
visit Working Links to see the excellent job they are doing. It is
vital that local people with health problems are not excluded from
the workplace, and I was very impressed with the dedication of the
staff and the practical help on offer. In my experience the
majority of people on health related benefits want go back to work,
but sometimes they need a little extra help. Working Links provides
that help."
