One of Coventry's leading commercial property companies has been appointed as sole agents to one of the area's most successful technology parks.

Shortland Horne is to market the Coventry University Technology Park, which is home to 70 businesses and several cutting-edge institutions.

The park was established in 1998 and is run by Coventry University Enterprises.

Shortland Horne, which is based in Queen Victoria Road, has been tasked with letting 15 per cent of the entire site which is currently unoccupied.

David Penn, a director of Shortland Horne, said the site was appealing to local companies and those drawn to the development because of its national reputation.

He said: "The Technology Park is a gem in the local property crown. It is home to organisations such as the Serious Games Institute and the Health Design and Technology Institute which are producing world renowned work in their fields, yet also hosts start up and micro companies.

"It has a very good record in attracting investment into the city, in fostering talent and applying the research and academic excellence of the university to a multitude commercial enterprises and uses."

Shortland Horne will be marketing available accommodation of around 19,000 sq ft across seven buildings at the park which also includes the highly successful Innovation Village.

Penn added: "There is a wide range of size of office accommodation ranging from 191 sq ft to a complete floor of a building in the Innovation Village which is 2,494 sq ft.

"While the park is highly successful, and is visited by outside businesses using its conference and meeting facilities, we believe that a great number of potential occupiers are not fully aware of what goes on there and the opportunities that exist."

Laurence Chilver, sales manager at Coventry University Technology Park, said: "The Technology Park offers far more than office space - it is a business community that provides business support, University academics and networking opportunities.

"We are delighted that Shortland Horne are working on our behalf because David and his experienced team have a real understanding of how the Technology Park supports tenants and encourages business growth."
