A Coventry tailor proved he measured up to the challenge when he received the first team call up for the Sky Blues.

Nick Chohan, who owns menswear business Suit Lounge, got the surprise of his life when Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd popped in to buy a new suit.

And the Sky Blues boss was so impressed with what he saw he made the store the club's official suit supplier and ordered almost 40 suits for the entire first team squad and staff.

Chohan set up Suits Lounge just five months ago less than a mile away from the Ricoh Arena in Parkville Highway, Holbrooks.

It is the biggest order the company has received to date but it was still able to deliver the suits within two days.

Chohan, who designs all of the suits himself using Italian fabrics before having them shipped in from Turkey, said he was delighted to be associated with the Sky Blues: "I am very happy and proud to be linked with the club.

"I am pleased that I was able to do something for them and it is nice that they approached me.

"It was Aidy who made the initial contact, he came to the showroom, with the commercial manager Jas Sodhi, and picked a design he liked.

"I went to the training ground at Ryton to measure everyone up, because all the suits had to be tailored to fit, then they came for a second fitting at the showroom before finally picking up their suits.

"Once we have an order we work hard to get it done as quickly as possible and we were able to deliver the suits within a couple of days."

Suit Lounge also specialises in producing 100 per cent wool suits and boys' suits for those aged from six months to 16-years-old. The business also supplies shirt and tie gift sets and can produce suits in sizes ranging from 34in to 56in chests.

Boothroyd was so impressed with the quality of the one button grey polyester suits that he has even ordered a couple of additional outfits for his own personal suit collection.

He said: "It is important for us to present a professional image when the team arrives for matches and these suits certainly give the right impression.

"We also felt it was important to use a local supplier and you cannot get much more local than Suit Lounge as they are practically neighbours of the Ricoh Arena!"
