SMEs face up to VAT increase

The effects of the January increase in VAT on small businesses will be put under the spotlight by Prime Chartered Accountants at the next Early Bird Breakfast organised by Solihull Chamber of Commerce.

Kevin Johns, a director at Prime which has offices in Solihull and Coventry, said: "Small businesses need to be prepared for the increase in VAT to 20 per cent. It is bound to have an impact on sales and production costs and many other aspects of the running of a business.

"As long-standing members of the Chamber, Prime hopes that giving advice on how to lessen the impact will be of help to businesses".

The event takes place at The Oak at Hockley Heath on October 19 starting at 7am when the Chamber members' fee will be £14 and non-members £24.
