Salon launch in Shropshire promises new offering

A brand new salon which has just opened in Shrewsbury aims to offer customers more than just a haircut, and is the brainchild of two local women who originally trained together over twenty years ago.

The Amber Rooms, located on Chester Street in the town has been launched by Shelly Cox and Louise Allmark who believe that they have identified a real gap in the market for a salon which not only offers a dedicated and professional hair styling service, but also provides its customers with a place to relax and escape from their day-to-day stresses.

The philosophy behind the salon is based on the idea that people want to be looked after and indulged when they go to the hairdressers, and that it should be a wholly enjoyable experience rather than merely a regular 'chore'. The design and function of the salon has been very much based upon research conducted amongst friends, family and the local community to find out just what would make going for a haircut more pleasurable.  Responses included having more time spent on having their hair washed, having their hairdresser take time to really understand their individual needs, and the offer of a friendly service, without the intimidation sometimes found in other modern, stylish salons.

Shelly Cox, co-owner of The Amber Rooms, commented: "Following our years working within the industry and from chatting to local people, it was clear that there was strong demand for a salon that would not only offer a specialist styling service,  but would also offer a warm, friendly and welcoming sanctuary for people to unwind in and enjoy.

"We have listened carefully to both existing and potential customers and have incorporated all these elements into the business, including a dedicated one-on-one service, where we personally look after each and every customer as soon as they walk through the door, from the washing of hair to the final finishing touches. We want our customers to feel completely comfortable and relaxed throughout the duration of their visit, and to ensure that they want to come back time and time again."

Shelly and Louise have extensive experience working within the hairdressing industry, having both trained together in the county in the 1990s, and subsequently working with leading names such as Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy. Their passion for their clients is paramount, and is evident in their commitment to creating a 'total' salon experience, from the warm interior decor to the range of products and services available.

Clients will be given the opportunity to experience a personal hand-controlled warming vibro-basin, as well have the chance to experience the current celebrity trend, in the form of a revolutionary product which promises to de-frizz and smooth out the hair, providing a semi-permanent treatment lasting between two and four months.

In addition, the salon will open late most evenings of the week to cater for those who work full time or who aren't able to make an appointment in usual business hours, and also boasts dedicated, secure on-site parking.
