Commercially focused strategic business planning expert and
former South West Trains director, Rufus Boyd, has been recruited
to the UK headquarters of internationally operating rail
consultancy Interfleet Technology.
Rufus has transferred from Interfleet's Sydney office, where he
was under contract as "shadow operator" for Sydney Metro and
latterly deputy chief executive officer. In this role he oversaw
business planning, safety and quality systems, and business case
development.
Rufus is perhaps best known in the UK for his work as commercial
director at South West Trains, where he sponsored the hugely
successful 2004 timetable change and the Class 458 fleet
refurbishment.
An MBA, Rufus has also worked within Stagecoach Rail, leading
the bid teams for the South Western, East Midlands and InterCity
East Coast franchises.
Interfleet managing director David Rollin commented: "With more
than 22 years of professional experience in the rail transport
industry, Rufus has proven commercial and project directing skills
and is an inspirational leader of teams.
"His track record in delivering business-focused results speaks
for itself and we are delighted that he will be joining the group
operation of Interfleet, adding his considerable expertise to an
already formidable team of leaders in their field."
Rufus added "Interfleet has a great future expanding outside its
traditional boundaries to meet the demands of governments, funders
and owners in building broad-based strategies and solutions for the
rail sector. I look forward to developing a business model for
Interfleet to achieve that."
