their Kilimanjaro trek
Birmingham lawyer Chris Rawstron is swapping the flat pavements
of Colmore Row for the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro as he undertakes
a gruelling charity trek.
Chris, a consultant at DLA Piper, is joining his youngest
daughter Kate, who is studying music at King's College, London, in
a six-day ascent of Africa's highest mountain, which starts Friday.

As well as enjoying the trip of a lifetime, the Rawstrons will
be raising money for the new Marie Curie Hospice for the West
Midlands, of which Chris is the capital appeal chairman.
Construction of the hospice in Solihull is due to start early
next year. It will provide in-patient care and serve as a base for
the Marie Curie nursing service which is provided to terminally ill
people across the West Midlands.
Chris, of Hagley, said: "It will take us six long days of
climbing to reach the summit, but it will be worth it, both for the
experience and more importantly for the sponsorship money we are
hoping to raise for Marie Curie."
