Conference Derbyshire will join forces with sister company Visit
Peak District & Derbyshire to promote the area's prime assets
as both a business and leisure destination at a major national
events showcase later this month.
They will share a stand at Event UK 2010 at the NEC Birmingham
on September 21 and 22, where they will highlight the Peak District
and Derbyshire's many plus points as the ideal venue to do business
or spend a holiday.
And the 3,600-plus event professionals expected to attend who
visit the joint stand, E200, will be able to sample free coffee
from Derbyshire-based company Azorie Blue and biscuits from
Chatsworth, as well as the chance to win a 'money can't buy'
weekend in the area worth more than £2,000.
The prize will include:
• Two nights' complimentary B&B for four people at the
area's newest venue, the four-star Casa Hotel in Chesterfield
• An activity day for four courtesy of Staffordshire
Moorlands-based Peak Pursuits
• Four complimentary tickets to Alton Towers
• Four complimentary tickets to Chatsworth (house and
gardens) and traditional afternoon tea for four in the Cavendish
Rooms
• A complimentary meeting room for up to 20 people,
including tea, coffee and lunch, at IGEM, Kegworth
• 'Behind the scenes' tour of Pride Park Stadium and The
Roundhouse in Derby
Also sharing the stand will be Casa Hotel, Chatsworth, IGEM,
Peak Pursuits, Pride Park Stadium and The Roundhouse, Derby.
"As the area's official tourist board and business tourism arm,
we felt it made sense to pool our resources to spread the word far
and wide about the advantages of coming here to do business or
enjoy a well-earned leisure break," said David James, Chief
Executive of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire.
"Targeting more than 3,600 professionals in the UK's meetings
and events industry, Event UK 2010 is the perfect platform to
publicise everything from our central, convenient location at the
heart of the UK to our huge choice of business venues,
accommodation options and attractions - blending the very best of
town and country.
"We look forward to meeting as many industry representatives as
possible during our two days in Birmingham, and hope that the
contacts we make will bring more business and leisure-related
income into the area in future."
