A 15 strong team of solicitors from Nottingham-based Fraser
Brown conquered the three peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and
Mount Snowden raising £13,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support -
smashing their £10,000 target.
The team trekked a total of 26 miles scaling the three highest
mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. Team leader Richard
Wollacott, said, "The climb was a physical test for all of us and
there have definitely been some sore feet in the office this week!
We'd all put in training beforehand to prepare but the real thing
is really tough. From start to finish there was a shared sense of
determination and great camaraderie which helped push us on.
The hardest part was tackling Scafell Pike in the dark but we
all managed to make the tricky descent safely.
Richard added, "We initially set out to raise £10,000 so
to have already reached £12,500 and still have money coming
in is amazing and we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who
has donated. We're delighted to be able to make such a large
contribution to Macmillan Cancer Support particularly as it is a
charity close to all of our hearts at Fraser Brown. At some point
we have all seen how cancer can so swiftly enter and affect the
lives of those we love, without warning and seemingly without
reason. Completing the challenge is a great achievement for all
involved and something the team can be very proud of."
All monies raised by the challenge will go to Macmillan Cancer
Support, a charity that provides practical, medical and financial
support for those affected by cancer and pushes for better cancer
care.
