Notts restoration specialists Bonsers have completed renovation
work on Grade II listed building The Lodge at Provident Works,
Newdigate Street.
Provident Works has undergone a major refurbishment to improve
the central core and entrance of the building, together with the
installation of secondary glazing to all of its 153 windows.
Bonsers worked on improvements to The Lodge which required their
expert eye to restore the traditional brickwork. They worked on the
roof, the original stairwell - providing stainless steel handrails
and new lighting and door frames.
Jo Bonser of Bonsers Limited said: "We are delighted to have
worked on this project - we have over 47 years' experience
specialising in building restoration and conservation and we get a
real buzz when buildings can be restored to something of their
former glory.
"It is also great to be involved on a project to provide quality
office space for SMEs in the Nottingham area."
Linda Chojnowski, senior project officer of NRL, said: "This is
a grade II listed building which had already been converted into
commercial space. By upgrading the entrance and the
two-storey annex to the site, we can accommodate more SMEs needing
a convenient office location near to the city centre."
The refurbishment, which was funded by the Greater Nottingham
Partnership, Homes and Communities Agency and NRL, has upgraded the
building's central core and entrance to modern standards and
enhances what is already an excellent building.
Williams Architects carried out design work and project
management services.
