Award season has opened in the regional PR world and once again
Lava has been shortlisted in the Chartered Institute of Public
Relations PRide Awards.
Lava has reached the final of two categories: Outstanding Small
Consultancy and Best Public Sector campaign in both the
Lincolnshire & Yorkshire and Midlands awards.
The four year old consultancy, which has offices in Lincoln and
Nottingham, has been recognised as one of the best agencies in the
region having doubled its turnover each year, grown its full-time
team from one to five and attracted clients such as RWE npower
renewables, Enterprise UK and the Orders of St John Care Trust.
As well as an impressive client list and financial performance,
Lava's success in becoming one of just 300 PR firms to receive the
Consultancy Management Standard and establishing a graduate
recruitment programme with the University of Lincoln in 2008 have
helped secure its place on the shortlist for Outstanding Small
Consultancy in Lincolnshire & Yorkshire and the MIdlands.
Lava's work for East Lindsey District Council, Intercult and
Arts Council England supporting the visit of international arts
festival Black/North SEAS to the UK in 2009 has also been
recognised by the PRide Awards in the Best Public Sector
campaign.
The nominations build upon Lava's success in last year's PRide
Awards, when the consultancy's work was shortlisted in both Best
Public Sector and helped the East Midlands Development Agency reach
the final four in the Best Integrated Marketing Campaign.
"We've always considered ourselves to be one of the best young
PR consultancies in the UK and it's fantastic to feature in the
PRide Awards shortlists for the second year running," says Lava
managing director, Matt Hammerton. "The Chartered Institute of
Public Relations established the PRide Awards to recognise and
celebrate the best work being undertaken by the profession outside
of London and are really competitive. This year there were over
1,200 entries, so for us to receive these nominations is incredibly
pleasing and we're really proud of our achievement."
The PRide Awards is the only awards scheme which showcases the
best PR work being carried out across the UK regions and nations
and winners will be announced at presentation dinners taking place
in each of the twelve participating areas from October to
December.
Jay O'Connor, CIPR President said: "The CIPR PRide Awards are a
celebration of PR achievement and a showcase of campaigns
implemented by the best of the best from across the UK. I offer my
congratulations to all those who have reached this stage of the
competition. Now more than ever, demonstrating the value of what we
do, and the positive impact we have, is tremendously important.
Thank you to all involved - the entrants, judges and
teams."
