The Stourbridge-based Western Region of Mansell Construction
Services has scooped six top accolades at the Considerate
Constructors Scheme 2010 National Awards.
These include a coveted Gold Award which Mansell received for
its work on the £9 million project to extend the Blists Hill
Victorian Town on behalf of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. The
Blists Hill project also received the runners up award in the UK's
Most Considerate Site category out of more than 7,600 sites across
the country.
Mansell was also presented with three bronze awards for the
£57 million Sandwell Pathfinder regeneration scheme, and a
bronze award for Mill Rise Extra Care Village in Staffordshire.
The Sandwell Pathfinder bronze awards were for sites at Harvills
Hawthorn and Millfields. The Pathfinder work is being carried out
by Mansell's partnership housing division on behalf of Riverside
and Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.
The judges said of the Blists Hill project, "This site is a
flagship site for all future Mansell projects" and of the Sandwell
Pathfinder sites, "The regeneration project is well organised and
the residents are treated as a priority. The high score reflects
the efforts that have been made to be considerate and proactive in
all departments."
Mansell has a good record in the Considerate Constructors
awards. In 2009 Mansell received three national silver awards and
two bronze awards, and in 2008 Mansell received two silver awards
and a bronze.
Mansell's Western Region managing director Steve Davies said
Mansell was particularly delighted to have picked up a prestigious
gold award.
"These awards are extremely sought after within the building
industry and they represent a real tribute to the work put in by
Mansell people on these important projects," he said.
