A debt advisor who conquered her speech impediment to build a successful business is set to test her new-found confidence by launching a new networking group.

Sabina Javid has been helping people with personal debt problems since 2002 and established her own business, Finance Solution Centre, in 2009.

Initially, her stammer, which she has had since she was six-years-old, was an issue because she struggled to communicate with potential clients, and this affected her self-confidence, as she felt she wasn't taken seriously.

Just over 12 months later, she has helped over 100 families address issues with credit card, loan and overdraft repayments, and is about to embark on a public speaking career.

This would not have been possible without the help of Business Networking International (BNI), a group of local businesses which meets weekly to pass referrals to each other.

She said: "I'd never set up my own business before, and communicating effectively was a problem, but joining BNI made a big difference.

"It can be very daunting for anyone to stand up and promote a business in front of 30 strangers, but even more so for someone with a stammer.

"Doing that every week has given me more confidence in my message, and the support of my fellow members has brought me out of my shell."

Currently a member of the Network BNI chapter, which meets every Wednesday at the Premier Inn, Trentham Gardens, Sabina's next challenge is to launch her own group at the North Stafford Hotel on October 21st.

She aims to bring together 40 local businesses, to help them conquer their own fears of public speaking and generate more business/leads for them.

She said: "I would recommend BNI to anyone who would like to build self-confidence and develop their business at the same time."

Sabina's launch meeting will begin at 6.45am and finish at around 8.30am. The group will then meet at the same time every Thursday.

Sabina Javid has been helping people solve debt problems since 2002, and set up Finance Solution Centre in July 2009.

The Newcastle-under-Lyme based company specialises in organising debt management plans, and dealing with paperwork and administration surrounding IVAs and bankruptcies.
