Hatton, toasts Sally Cowie on her final day with the firm
A loyal worker, who enjoyed her time with her employer so much
she joined them three times, has called time on her career.
Sally Cowie, 62, is leaving her position as practice
administrator with Coventry legal firm Band Hatton after spending a
total of 22 years with the Station Square-based solicitors.
Sally entered the world of law when she was just 15-years-old,
by joining former Coventry legal practice Roland Hollick. She
eventually joined Band Hatton for the first time in 1972 before
leaving to spend time in Australia.
She rejoined shortly after before leaving once more for the
birth of her first child. The Bulkington-based employee then joined
for the final time in 1990 and spent over 20 consecutive years with
the practice.
Now the grandmother of two is retiring to spend more time with
her husband Michael and her two grandchildren Taylor James, six,
and Alanda, three.
She said: "I came back so many times and stayed for so long
because I loved it here.
"I think it is a lot to do with the atmosphere of the place as
well as the relationships and friendships I have developed over the
years.
"Of course I am sad to be leaving my friends and I will miss
them terribly, but I'll still be coming in to see them
regularly.
"But at the same time I'm glad to be retiring - I've been doing
this since I was 15-years-old and getting up early in the morning
is never fun!"
Staff at the firm, which employs over 40 people, clubbed
together to buy vouchers for their former colleague so that she can
buy a laptop computer to enjoy during her newly discovered
freedom.
Mark Moseley, practice director at Band Hatton, said: "Sally is
an inspiration to everyone at Band Hatton; sincere, generous and
she has dedicated the best part of her working life to the
firm.
"Sally will be missed on many levels by all at Band Hatton."
