Dixon sponsored kits
At the beginning of the new season, Kettering Rugby Club (KRFC)
has seen its confidence for the future endorsed by the announcement
that construction giant Willmott Dixon has agreed to become the
Waverley Road based club's official kit sponsor in a three-year
deal.
Specialists in construction, development and support services,
Willmott Dixon is committed to making a positive difference at both
a local and national level to involve the communities in which it
operates. The kit sponsor deal follows a contract win to build the
new Kettering Science Academy in partnership with Northampton
County Council, due for completion in June 2012.
Lennie Newman, KRFC Chairman commented: "This is a fantastic
arrangement for the club, Willmott Dixon and sport within the town
as it will allow us to continue our commitment to making the club
an important part of the community."
Jeff Foster, Academies Project Manager for Willmott Dixon adds:
"We're excited to be the main kit sponsor for KRFC and look forward
to following the club's progress this season. This sponsorship is
an example of the involvement we have in local communities which
ranges from providing support facilities, business mentoring,
work-shadowing and charitable activities."
New names on the pitch this season include Tom Paul and Shaun
West as locks and Malcolm Crooks as prop. The new recruits will
strengthen new captain Ian Gilmour's squad as the Blues look to
make their stay in Midlands Division One (East) brief. The club is
confident that the mixture of experience and youth will provide the
building blocks to mount a strong challenge for this season's
title.
Doug Bridgeman, KRFC Director of Rugby said: "Our performance
during pre-season training and friendly matches give the club good
reason to be excited about the forthcoming season. I am also
pleased to see so many of our young players competing for places as
the vast majority have been developed through our mini and junior
ranks ensuring that a consistent stream of local talent is
available."
