An historic grade II listed former maltings building in
Mansfield is to go under the hammer next month (oct) at an heb
property auction.
A remnant of the town's brewing history, The Maltings in
Midworth Street has been vacant since 2002, when it was last used
as a nightclub.
Heb has more than £2.75 million of property going under
the hammer in the 25-lot sale to be held in Nottingham
The Maltings building, being auctioned on behalf of Mansfield
District Council, is attracting much interest, says heb auctioneer
Matt Hilton.
"With a guide price of £50,000 to £100,000, this is
a substantial building with lots of potential. In the past it has
received listed building consent and planning permission for
conversion to offices. More recently The Maltings has been used as
a nightclub," he said.
"The former maltings building is one of the earliest buildings
in the area and remains from Mansfield's old brewing tradition. The
building's rarity makes this an interesting project with a strong
degree of heritage merit."
In Nottingham, heb is putting a variety of retail opportunities
under the hammer. The Marketside in Bath Street, Sneinton is a
large retail property in a busy commercial location close to the
city centre while in ever-popular Hyson Green, Heb is selling 336
and 338 Radford Road, two self contained shops and bedsits. The
property has a guide price of around £100,000.
In Basford, 28 Southwark Street is a retail/residential
investment property generating £11,000 per annum.
Heb is also selling four pubs in the Notts area. In Shirebrook,
The Great Northern pub and in Mansfield, 10 to 12 Churchside will
be going under the hammer. Heb is also auctioning the Victoria,
Main Street, Long Eaton, and The Yew Tree in Hucknall.
Matt said: "Once again, we have a real mixed bag of properties
for auction, from pubs to houses and investment opportunities.
"The popularity of auctions is continuing to increase. Auction
results have continued to grow for the last two years or so. Buyers
understand that properties being brought to the market for sale by
auction, are likely to be well priced, and therefore potentially
attractive."
The heb auction will take place on 12 October at
Nottingham Belfry Hotel, Mellors Way, Nottingham at 2.30pm. For
