Staffordshire based CP Automated Lighting (Northern) Ltd are
taking part in a Government hosted Conference and Exhibition in
London on Wednesday 6th October named "Greening Government - The
Vision of a Sustainable Government Estate"
As a leading supplier of energy efficient lighting control
systems, CP is taking a stand at the conference and the directors
of the business are hoping to make some useful contacts within the
public sector.
The Government has placed sustainability at the heart of its
policy-making process, with the ambition of making the economy more
environmentally sustainable and investing in the infrastructure to
create a new green economy.
Recently the Prime Minister David Cameron affirmed his
commitment to creating the "greenest government ever", calling for
a renewed emphasis on sustainability and efficiency across
government, with a focus on greater transparency in order to
demonstrate evidence of real progress and successful
outcomes.
"Every Government Department is now tasked with achieving a 10
per cent reduction in carbon emissions by May 2011, with a
Government Steering Group including the private sector established
to guide progress and real time energy reporting enabled online to
monitor the process, said David Hart Managing Director, CP
Automated Lighting.
"There will be a number of Procurement Managers from local
government attending this conference and we are looking forward to
illustrating how much energy and money can be saved by investing in
our intelligent automated lighting systems.
"Lighting can account for up to 40% of a buildings total energy
costs and whilst most large new building designs are incorporating
intelligent lighting control systems, existing public sector
building managers need to consider this option and would be
surprised at the savings which can be generated set against initial
capital outlay." added David.
The event taking place at the Church House Conference Centre in
Westminster on 6th October also hosts a number of government guest
speakers, master classes including Lighting Solutions and a Network
Surgery.
