Project partners for a new housing development in Long Lawford,
Rugby gathered on 31st August to celebrate its start on
site.
The £17m development, off Tee Tong Road on Back Lane, is a

The 120 homes will be made up of 42 two-bedroom houses, 72

be for rent, 27 for shared ownership and 28 for intermediate rent.
Orbit Homes will be selling the shared ownership properties, whilst
its partner, Orbit Heart of England, will manage the rental
properties.
The new houses will be completed in three phases, the first
phased completions being in November 2011, the second in February
2012 and the third in April 2012.
An area has been set aside for recreation giving the new
residents and their families, ample space for outdoor activities
and will provide a dedicated children's play area with a selection
of play equipment.

to working with William Davis, Rugby Borough Council and the HCA to
make this development a real success."

always a proud moment to witness the first soil being turned at a
new development but we are especially pleased to be here today, not

celebrate the steadfast relationship that we have with our partners
Orbit Homes.
"The creation of a new community in Long Lawford is testament to
our long standing association and the 120 new homes and their
occupants will energise and invigorate this area of Rugby."
Andy Spencer, area manager for the Homes and Communities Agency
West Midlands, covering Rugby, said: "We are delighted to be
supporting this project to bring much-needed affordable housing to
Rugby and will continue to work with the Council, Orbit and William
Davis to deliver this exciting scheme for the communities in and
around Long Lawford".

communities, said: "This is an exciting opportunity to help meet
the housing needs of the people of Rugby through the delivery of
high-quality new build homes.

Communities Agency.
Officers also used their expertise to offer advice on the design
of the scheme."

the duration of the project.
