King Sturge has been accelerating funds for its 250th
anniversary 1760 charity appeal with a sponsored Classic and Sports
Car Reliability Run supported by the local commercial property
community.
Raising money for the Royal British Legion with specific
emphasis on the Selly Oak military ward, approximately 30 cars took
part in the 320 mile run from Birmingham to North Wales and
back.
Jones Lang LaSalle, Johnson Fellows, Opus Land, Aon, and many
more property companies were amongst some of the names taking part.
Organiser, Gethin Chislett, a senior associate at King Sturge said
the turnout was fantastic. "We had some first class cars and
competitors taking part. Everyone completed the run in an average 9
hours, raising an estimated £3,500. Despite the wet weather
we were able to enjoy some of the fantastic scenery Wales had to
offer and return for a welcome drink and debrief in the Metro
The reliability run gave a chance for drivers to test their
skills and the endurance of the cars through travelling on a
mixture of motorways, fast sweeping A roads and Welsh mountain
passes.
King Sturge Birmingham has already enjoyed a visit from Simon
Weston to the offices to rally support for the Royal British
Legion.
