National property and construction consultancy Wakemans is on
site with a new £6.8million Travelodge in Ealing, which is
scheduled for completion next February.
Wakemans is acting as employer's agent, quantity surveyor and
CDM co-ordinator on the new-build project on behalf of developer
Stevens Properties, which will then lease the hotel to Travelodge
on a long term basis.
The 99 room hotel is being built on Uxbridge Road, a main route
into Ealing, and will feature a Bar Café, Travelodge's
own brand restaurant serving breakfast, snacks and light meals on
the ground floor. It is Travelodge's first hotel in the town
and will support the UK's fastest growing hotel chain in its bid to
grow its estate to 70,000 rooms across approximately 1,000
hotels by 2020.
Tony O'Brien, Travelodge's UK Development Director said: "We are
very excited to be on site at our fantastic new 99-bed property,
which is the first budget hotel in the London borough of Ealing.
The hotel is located on a very prominent site on Uxbridge Road,
well situated for Kew Gardens, Syon House and Thames Valley
University. With rooms from £19, Ealing Travelodge will be an
ideal low-cost stop over for business and leisure travellers
visiting the area, which will attract more visitors to Ealing and
help to further boost the local economy."
Travelodge's first hotel in Ealing represents another major
milestone for the company, which is seeking to maximise the
potential for growth in the budget hotel sector across London in
anticipation of the 2012 Olympics.
