It is not often a company is invited to a meeting and is asked
to bring the chairs!
Northampton-based acs moved its banking services to Yorkshire
Bank's Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Northampton this year
and were among a number of customers invited to a networking
lunch.
Colin Fyfe, Divisional Director of Yorkshire Bank's business and
private banking division, Integrated Financial Solutions (iFS),
suggested it would be an ideal opportunity for the company to
showcase the products of one of acs' three core businesses.
The company specialises in providing IT technology, support and
services, computing, and office furniture and interior design from
its base in Oxwich Close on Brackmills Industrial Estate,
Northampton.
Jon Thorpe, joint Managing Director of acs, admitted he had been
a little surprised to be asked to bring along some of its office
chairs for the lunch in the boardroom at the FSC in Waterside
Way.
"It isn't the normal kind of request that we receive!" he said.
"I have been told that Yorkshire Bank is different - in a good way
- and bringing your own chairs to a meeting certainly makes them
different.
"We brought different types of office seating which are usually
in our boardroom and general meeting spaces.
"Business is currently very good. We are currently 16.1 per cent
over forecast for the first six months of this year which suggests
this will be our best trading year in the 16 years we have been in
business.
"Everything is going very well with Yorkshire Bank. They share
our values and I would be happy to recommend Yorkshire Bank to any
progressive business."
Andy Ashton, a Business Banking Partner at Northampton's
Yorkshire Bank FSC, said the networking lunch had been an
opportunity to showcase its products to a variety of its clients
ranging from Beardow Adams to Multi Labels and Goldline UK to
Steffan Jewellers.
"We invited existing members to lunch to thank them for their
business," he said. "When Colin Fyfe went to meet acs in their
boardroom he was impressed it was kitted out like a showroom and
thought it would be great if they could provide the chairs at one
of our lunches.
"This shows the different ways Yorkshire Bank works with our
members and that we offer different facilities to help their
business."
