Wireless & network ready LapCabby charges into UK

Monarch Education Furniture, the company behind the market-leading LapCabby, has launched a range of wireless and network-ready laptop storage and charging units.

The range comes complete with a Wi-Fi access point and gigabit switch that make it easier than ever before for teachers and children to connect their classroom laptops to the Web and school local area network (LAN).

Called LapCabby Up Link, the new range features a Wi-Fi access point that enables the unit to be plugged into a school's local area network (LAN). This provides a wireless link so that the laptops can easily and quickly connect to the Internet while being used in the classroom.

The gigabit switch, meanwhile, allows the laptops to remain connected to the LAN even while charging, enabling schools to update software or data on their computers overnight.

Emma Harrhy, marketing manager at Monarch Education Furniture, said: "We developed the LapCabby Up-Link range in response to requests from schools for a future-proof, network-ready laptop storage and charging unit.

"Teachers say they want classroom laptops to be connected to the Web via wireless technology wherever they are used in the school and they want to be able to update their laptops with new software while they are charging overnight.

"The LapCabby Up-Link range is the first to offer technology that enables teachers to do both of these things, and, despite this, we have kept the cost of the product to less than half that of other laptop charging and storage products.

"We have also secured both the wireless router and gigabit switch in a sealed unit on top of the trolley which means that there is minimal danger of theft, damage or connection issues."

LapCabby is the most cost effective laptop and netbook storage and charging product on the market, housing between ten and 32 laptops or netbooks in each unit. The Up-Link range consists of the LapCabby Up-Link 16V and the LapCabby Up-Link 16H.

Its excellent cable management and power system is housed in a separate compartment to keep it well away from children, providing a level of safety beyond that of other products in the market.

Other innovative features include a Green power management system, an effective dual point locking system and striking ergonomic handles and rubber corner bumpers that protect the unit, the classroom and the laptops.
