Every business and organisation is trying to deal with the
impacts of a changing workforce and economy and at a session at
Leicester's Space Centre on Tuesday 7th December 2010 Trevor
Baylis, inventor of the wind up radio, seeks to inspire East
Midland's transport companies to innovate within their businesses
to drive the regional economy.
The free event, hosted by the Transport iNet, is open to any
companies in the transport industry, including Marine, Automotive,
Motorsport, Aerospace and Rail, looking to achieve competitive
advantage through using innovation within their business, whether
it be in their products, services or business processes.
With presentations in the morning from leading inventor Trevor
Baylis OBE and Ben Halford of Surface Generation - a business
recently supported by the Transport iNet to implement a
revolutionary tooling system, followed by a question and answer
session and exhibition, it promises to be an inspiring session.
Transport iNet's Director, John Frodsham, said: "It will be the
creativity and entrepreneurship of innovation leaders who will
develop the new products, services and ways of working to achieve
sales, added value and customer satisfaction in the most effective
way. More and improved innovation is essential for the survival of
many companies, particularly within the transport sector. At this
event we hope to demystify innovation by hearing from companies
that have innovated, how and why they did it and what has happened
as a result".
The Transport iNet, based at Loughborough University, is funded
by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and the European
Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The aim of Transport iNet
is to increase the level of innovation in the East Midlands helping
to improve business competitiveness, margins, sustainability and
growth. It allows individual sectors to work together, share ideas,
technologies, intelligence, innovation and create a link between
industry and the academic community.
