Lieutenants
One of Leicestershire's new Deputy Lieutenants has been kitted
out in his official uniform thanks to the family-run, bespoke
tailoring business, Tailoring UK.
Former Leicestershire police chief, David Wyrko, was one of five
prominent figures appointed to the post by Lord-Lieutenant of
Leicestershire, Lady Gretton, in September. His new role, which
dates back to the mid-16th century, will see him conducting a wide
range of official duties across the county, including attending
remembrance services and citizenship ceremonies.
So, when he required an official uniform to carry out the role,
David turned to Tailoring UK's creative director Ketan
Jethwa.
With over 100 years of bespoke tailoring experience in the
Jethwa family, Ketan has previously worked for other high profile
and celebrity clients from Tailoring UK's headquarters in
Churchgate, Leicester.
"The position of Deputy Lieutenant is a highly prestigious one,"
commented David. "As part of the role, I will be working alongside
Lady Gretton, Her Majesty The Queen's official representative in
Leicestershire, and attending many high profile events, so it's
vital that I look my best at all times.
"Ketan previously made my uniform for the post of High Sheriff
of Leicestershire, so I was confident that his expertise would be
perfect for making such an important garment."
Tailoring UK's work with David Wyrko comes at an exciting time
for the business. With a new outlet now open in Derby, as well as
existing premises in both Leicester and Cambridge, Ketan and his
wife Harsha are now looking at further expansion opportunities,
including new outlets and an impressive e-commerce offering.
