The growth of GVA Grimley's Property Management teams in
Birmingham has created one of the largest specialist departments in
the UK, leading to the promotion of two directors within the 142
strong team.
Sharon Reilly has been promoted to a director within the
Property Management Accounts team, while Guy Thompson has been
promoted to a director within the Property Management Consultancy
team. Their teams have grown by 43 per cent over the past 12
months. The annual rent payments collected on behalf of GVA
Grimley's landlord clients now amounts to £450 million, while
the service charge payments collected from occupiers have virtually
doubled in the past 12 months to close to £100 million per
annum.
Ian Stringer, Regional Senior Director of GVA Grimley's
Birmingham office comments: "The strength of our award-winning
Property Management department in Birmingham has led to
unprecedented growth over the past 18 months, despite the
challenging market. Time and time again, our team has demonstrated
to clients how much more efficient and effective it is to outsource
their property management requirements to us. Our specialist team
are leaders in their field and the experience they bring to the
table can prove invaluable, especially at a time when the economy
is so fragile.
"GVA Grimley was founded in Birmingham in the 19th Century and
our office in Brindleyplace continues to be the largest office
outside of our London headquarters. The tremendous track record of
the Property Management division has seen a number of our national
clients choosing to centralise their operations with us and run
their whole account from our Birmingham office. Directors such as
Sharon Reilly and Guy Thompson - who we have recently promoted -
have earned national reputations and are rapidly growing their
respective teams to respond to client instructions."
Fuelling the unprecedented growth of the Property Management
division was the recent expansion of GVA Grimley's contract with
the Royal Bank of Scotland. The Birmingham office now manages
approximately 3,000 properties for the banking giant across its UK,
Offshore and Ireland regions.
Another key instruction that has contributed to the recent
growth is the Max Industrious property portfolio that comprises
1,200 commercial units, amounting to a total of 7.5 million square
feet of predominantly industrial premises in 85 locations. GVA
Grimley's Birmingham office provides property and asset management
services, together with full financial management, including
property accounts and corporate accounting.
The team has also recently been reappointed by Urban Splash to
manage the service charge and utilities at its flagship Fort Dunlop
building. GVA Grimley has also continued to provide comprehensive
property management services to the Brindleyplace estate, following
the acquisition by Hines Moorfield this summer. GVA Grimley has
managed Brindleyplace and The Water's Edge since its inception in
1994, which now equates to 92,900 square metres of office space and
9,290 square metres of retail, restaurants, bars, the City Inn
hotel, as well as leisure attractions.
