A Shropshire business, staffed full of footie fans, is bringing
some Christmas cheer to a county football ground by sponsoring the
Shrewsbury Town Boxing Day match.
Hundreds of football fans gather together each year for the
Boxing Day event and staff at ASK Mobile Phones in Meole Brace
wanted to play their part in making sure the day is one to remember
for all of them.
The small business will be one of the sponsors of the game
between Shrewsbury Town FC and Bury on December 26 and have
recently seen one of the pitches boards bear their name.
Keith Smith, of ASK, said all of the staff were keen football
fans and wanted to be part of the celebrations at the Greenhous
Stadium.
He said: "Shrewsbury Town is a club supported by thousands of
people across Shropshire and we are really pleased that on Boxing
Day this year we will not only be supporting the team but providing
sponsorship for the actual game.
"I for one am greatly looking forward to finishing off Christmas
week by enjoying the hospitality and entertainment our local
football club provides."
Shrewsbury Town will play promotional rivals Bury on Sunday
December 26 at the start of an important festive season which will
see Shrewsbury's club play four games in eight days.
