The champagne corks were popping recently at Sixways Stadium as
Postcode Anywhere's CSR Officer, Angela Davis, received the
Individual Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR).
The inaugural event organised and hosted by the Worcestershire
Ambassadors and was devised to celebrate and recognise
organisations and businesses in Worcestershire demonstrating a
commitment to CSR.
The four award categories included environmental, community,
workplace and staff, and individual excellence. The judges were
particularly impressed by the winners' long term commitment and the
variety of ways in which CSR is integrated into their lives and
businesses on a daily basis.
Other winning organisations included Jutexpo in the
environmental category, DHL, who won the community award, and
Festival Housing, who secured the workplace and staff award.
Postcode Anywhere's CSR Officer, Angela Davis, received the
award for the range and diversity of CSR activities staff at the
Hallow-based technology company participate in. She said: "I was
delighted but shocked to receive the award, given the fantastic
community profile and dedication demonstrated by the other
nominees.
"However, I think the directive for CSR has to come from the top
and cascade down to every single employee, so in the case of
Postcode Anywhere, without the stalwart support of our directors it
would be impossible to achieve the level of community involvement
that we do.
"I think it's also important to acknowledge that the award is
for everyone at the company, as every single employee contributes
towards our CSR activities. Our corporate culture is based on a
"can do" and "will do" approach and this is something that we take
to the community. Whatever we do and whoever we do it for, we have
fun along the way."
Added MD, Guy Mucklow "I'm really pleased that Ange's won the
award as she deserves the recognition for all of the hard work and
effort that she has put into the role. CSR has added a new
dimension to Postcode Anywhere providing an excellent means of
developing our team, whilst at the same time helping to motivate
our people and to make us all more sensitive to the difficulties
which others face on a daily basis.
Having just raised £11,155 for blood cancer charity
Leukaemia CARE, which were the proceeds of the Last Choir Standing
Corporate charity singing competition, the company is currently
planning its Christmas activities.
In collaboration with staff from the Herefordshire and
Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Postcode Anywhere's technology
troubadours will be taking some Christmas cheer to the elderly.
Later on in December they will be entertaining residents from care
homes in Droitwich and Hereford with a selection of traditional
Christmas carols.
