Louise Third, business woman and charity supporter has made a
significant contribution to a new book in aid of The Prince's
Trust. Launched in London on 30th November 2010, This is How Yoodoo
it is a collection of sixty articles written by Mike Southon for
the Financial Times and Daily Telegraph, one of which features
Louise talking about the important role PR plays in the life of any
organisation.
Director of her own PR Company Integra Communications, Louise's
career has taken her from business consultant to media relations,
with a little TV and radio experience for good measure. Her
inclusion in the new book recognizes her expertise and knowledge of
how businesses start and grow, and how new firms very often have to
handle their own PR at first. Louise runs regular DIY PR workshops
at The British Library in London with Daily Express journalist
Maisha Frost, and the chapter in This is How YooDoo it reflects
their combined experience.
"Being able to support The Prince's Trust in this way is a real
privilege," says Louise. "I acted as a mentor for the Trust over
several years prior to moving to Nottingham and I know how every
little bit of advice can help. My hope is that many aspiring
entrepreneurs will buy the book, or better still find it in their
Christmas stocking, and go into the New Year with some great
ideas."
Author of This is How Yoodoo it Mike Southon is a successful
entrepreneur, and co-author with Chris West of several best-selling
business books including The Beermat Entrepreneur, The Boardroom
Entrepreneur and Sales on a Beermat. This is How Yoodoo it has a
wealth of practical advice on a wide variety of topics, including
getting started, sales, marketing and communication, team building,
mentoring, growing your business, dealing with the recession and
social entrepreneurship.
"It's always a delight to work with Louise as her understanding
of PR, especially in the small business space is second to none,"
says Mike Southon. "She wrote the very popular e-book 'PR on a
Beermat', the only time we have permitted anyone else to use our
'Beermat' brand. She was an obvious choice to interview for
my Financial Times column and it was a pleasure to include her in
'This Is How Yoodoo It'."
Other experts featured in the book include Sir Keith Mills, who
led the successful London 2012 Olympics bid; the actor and writer
Stephen Fry; Harold Goddijn founder of Tom Tom; Kelvin
Mackenzie, former editor of "The Sun"; Sir Philip Trousdell,
former Commandant of Sandhurst; Sir Robin Saxby, founder of
chip maker ARM and Brent Hoberman, founder of Lastminute.com.
All proceeds from the book will go to The Prince's Trust.
