Warwickshire-based business, The Oxalis Group, is expanding its
lighting division and has announced that it has signed an agreement
with Bermac Lighting Ltd to acquire the LiteSafe trade and assets
for an undisclosed sum.
Oxalis Lighting specialises in the design, certification,
manufacture and supply of a range of explosion protected lighting
systems. The company supplies lighting systems for areas where the
risk of explosion from the ignition of vapour, gas or dust exist
and has developed an impressive client base including British
Airways, Transco, BP, Total, RAF, BAE & Shell.
Mark Mumford, Managing Director of Oxalis Lighting, commented
"The Litesafe range provides a significant opportunity for us to
expand our sales to customers where safe area lighting products are
needed to complement their hazardous area requirements. We will be
one of a few number of companies who are able to supply all of
these lighting products."
Litesafe products are approved by London Underground, Railtrack,
Ministry of Defence and the Fire Service and deliver flexible
lighting solutions indoors and outdoors. The range includes
portable products designed to provide a focussed light source for
awkward areas and tight spaces; wide angle, anti-glare floodlights
for larger areas and interlinked systems for continuous safety
lighting along corridors, staircases and external pathways.
Offering an alternative to generators, Litesafe products are
powered by rechargeable batteries supplying continuous operation
for up to 24 hours - allowing essential work to be conducted
without a nearby power supply.
Rob Whorrod, CEO of The Oxalis Group told us "The integration of
the Litesafe range is part of a strategic development programme for
The Oxalis Group. Focussing on sustainable technology for explosion
protection equipment, we will be increasing our investment in
research and product design." He continued "Before the end of the
year we will be moving to a new permanent Head Office and design
facility in Stratford-upon-Avon, from our temporary offices in
Henley-in-Arden. We are looking forward to a bright future in
2011!"
