Walsall-based truck dealer Hartshorne has supplied a new
curtain-side truck to the UK's leading waste battery collection and
recycling specialist.
Hartshorne has delivered a Volvo FE 4x2 truck to Darlaston-based
G & P Batteries.
The new vehicle joins G & P's 21-strong vehicle fleet, and
will be used for the nationwide collection of waste industrial,
automotive and portable batteries.
G & P Batteries, based in Willenhall Road, Darlaston, has
been collecting and recycling batteries for more than 25 years. The
company collects, sorts and recycles batteries of all types and was
the first company in the UK to be approved as an Authorised Battery
Treatment Operator and Authorised Battery Exporter by the
Environment Agency. The FE 4x2 is the first Volvo on their
fleet.
The vehicle has a 240 horsepower Euro 5 engine. It is fitted
with curtain sides and a cantilever tail-lift. Body conversion work
was carried out by CBS of Stoke-on-Trent. Hartshorne also supplied
G & P Batteries with a five year repair and maintenance
contract.
Hartshorne is the Volvo Trucks agent for the Midlands,
with 12 depots across central England. The company is part of the
Crossroads group.
