Tiny tots at an Erdington nursery dazzled the audience when they
took to the stage for a special performance of the 'Shining Star'
Christmas nativity.
Proud parents, family and friends watched in delight as children
from Lakeside Children and Family Learning Centre made their stage
debuts in the production.
The young thespians had an excellent mentor for the performance
in the form of local dance instructor Lisa Mwambene, who directed
and choreographed the show.
Lisa, a mother from the Wyrley Birch estate, said: "It's been an
absolute delight working with the children; they've really got into
the spirit of it, with the dancing and acting.
"Christmas is always a magical time for children and it's
definitely brought some sparkle to the nursery," said Lisa.
Jean Hayes, nursery manager at the Lakes Road centre said,
"We've had a wonderful time with the children; they have even
painted and decorated the sets, so they've really involved
themselves in every aspect of their first nativity.
"The children were brilliant, shining stars in their own right,
and I am sure we have some very proud parents too."
The nursery is run by Enta CIC, a Birmingham based social
enterprise that provides real life chances for local people and
transforms communities.
