Over a hundred clients, business contacts and advisers, joined
the partners and staff of Nottingham law firm Berryman last week at
its annual drinks reception at the city's award-winning restaurant
and bar, Tonic.
The drinks party presented the ideal opportunity to toast a new
era for the firm following its merger with Birmingham firm
Shakespeare Putsman last month (November).
Shakespeare Putsman Chairman Mark English and Chief Executive
Paul Wilson joined Berryman partners including Richard Brackenbury,
James Jarvis and Duncan James, in thanking guests for their
positive reaction to the merger, as the firm's Sue Carr
explains:
"This was the first opportunity to get together with clients and
contacts following the merger with Shakespeare Putsman which
completed on the 1st November 2010.

"In particular, our annual drinks reception gave everyone at the
firm, the chance to express thanks and gratitude for the unwavering
support of all our business contacts following the announcement of
the merger, which marks a really exciting new era for Berryman.
Clients and professional contacts have responded extremely
positively to the merger, with many saying they believe it has in
fact breathed a new lease of life into both the firm and the
market.
"It was great to catch-up with so many representatives from the
Midlands' business community, and for our clients to meet some of
the new, enlarged team."
Berryman merged with Birmingham-based Shakespeare Putsman to
create a 470-staff strong and circa £30 million turnover firm
with offices in key locations across the Midlands.
