card competition
Nearly 1,500 companies will soon be displaying the artistic
talents of 10-year-old Abigail-Ann Talkowska.
The Year 6 pupil at Birmingham Oratory Primary School in
Edgbaston won a competition to create the company Christmas card
for BHSF, the Birmingham-based supplier of employee benefits. The
cards will be distributed to customers and client companies.
Claire Dickinson, head of the Oratory, said: "We are delighted
to have been chosen by BHSF to take part in the competition. And
it's a great achievement for Abigail to win the prize."

Abigail's card depicts Mary and Joseph looking over the baby
Jesus on a bed of straw and her prizes included a £25 book
voucher.
Peter Maskell, chief executive of BHSF, made the presentation of
prizes at a special ceremony during the school's
assembly.
He said: "The competition is part of BHSF's outreach into the
community and the Oratory is opposite our offices in Edgbaston. We
are very keen to promote neighbourliness as part of our commitment
to corporate social responsibility."
In addition to the prizes for Abigail and the runners-up, a
donation by BHSF has been made to the school funds plus a payment
to Acorns Children's Hospice.
